An Abuja Federal High Court judge, Justice Anwuli Chikere, on Wednesday, withdrew from the corruption trial of former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, and three others.
The judge stated that she was abandoning the case based on disclosed personal reasons.
“I am sending the file back to the Chief Judge for re-assignment for personal reasons. When it gets re-assigned, the parties can continue.”
Morro, and three others, including a permanent secretary of the ministry of interior, Anastasia Daniel-Nwaobia, a deputy director and a company, Drexel Tech Nigeria Ltd, are facing a 2-count charge of fraud.
The charges were brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The quartet are accused of defrauding 676, 675 Nigerian applicants of N676,675,000 during an Immigration Service recruitment that led to the death of at least 12 people.
