Ebola Movie: Producers of 93 Days say project cost N400 million (PHOTOS)

Members of the press were invited for an exclusive screening of the movie 93 days at Filmhouse Cinema, Surulere, Lagos on Thursday, August 12, 2016.

Also in attendance at the screening were producers of the film, Bolanle Austin-Peters, Dotun Olakunri and Sola Oyebade who plays a minor role in the movie.

In a Q&A session with pressmen at the event, the producers revealed the movie gulped an estimated 400 million Naira production-wise.

When quizzed on how the movie was funded, the producers explained funds were gotten from international organisations and corporate sponsors.

The movie 93 days which is set to hit Nigerian Cinemas in late September honours the valiant men and women such as the doctors and staff of First Consultant Hospital, Obalende Lagos who put their life on the line to battle the epidemic, Ebola which was introduced into Lagos, Nigeria by an infected Liberian diplomat, Patrick Sawyer on his trip to the country on June 20, 2014.

93 days signals the number of days the highly dreaded disease held the nation to a ransom until it was declared free of the disease by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on October 20, 2014.

The movie which was directed by Steve Gukas features a star-studded cast which includes Hollywood actor Danny Glover, Bimbo Akintola as Dr Stella Adadevoh; who this movie draws its inspiration from, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey as Patrick Sawyer, Gideon Okeke, and Somkele Idhalama.
