4 killed and 1 missing in gun duel between Boko Haram and JTF

A gun battle between men of the Joint Military Task Force and insurgent elements in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital resulted in the death of three men suspected to be affiliated to Boko Haram and a soldier.

One other soldier was also wounded in the gun battle which occurred around 12:30pm today.

The JTF spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said the Task Force acting on information carried out a cordon and search operation at Bulabulin Ganram area of Maiduguri Metropolis and witnessed a severe resistance from the insurgents.

According to reports, another JTF personnel could not be accounted for as at the time of this report.

The JTF spokesman added that 31 suspected members of Boko Haram Islamic sect were arrested, while one AK 47 rifle, one G 3 rifle, as well as some quantity of assorted magazines and ammunition were recovered from the scene.

God help Nigeria soldiers,my advise is 2 split dis country bkos I don't knw hw long would nigerians continue 2 live in fear and a huge amount of money is Being pumped 2 security issue still no peace.and d nothernas dat are causing dis troubles are still d one complaining and disagreeing on in balancing of 2013 budget,I don't knw what they are fighting 4.is it 2 take our oil money 2 invest it in d north and still destroy it wit bokoharam problem?
